On Monday we picked up Mimi in Portland and made a day of it--a great day that is! We played at a park, saw the animals in a pet store, ate lunch but the most exciting thing we did was watch ICE AGE 3 at the movie theater. Going to the movie's for my kids was a BIG thing! This was Caleb's 1st time watching the BIG SCREEN and he LOVED it! I think it was Mara's 2nd time and maybe even Ty's 3rd! We don't go to the movie very often a you could tell, so my kids really thought this was neat!
On Tuesday we went south to Lincoln city to meet a group of friends at the park...only one friend showed up! What's up with that? Oh well Heather and I had a splendid time and her son Zeyon and Ty had a wonderful time playing together. This was a new park for us and wow! I'm impressed! We are definitely going back. It had a really neat play structure and the view of Devil's Lake was magnificent!
We couldn't go home from Lincoln without stopping at the outlet mall and doing a little 'back to school shopping' for Ty. I HATE SHOPPING! I don't like spending money, shopping with 3 kids is a circus--it was nice to have Mimi there to help out, but shopping isn't really for me! I was quite disappointed with the selection, everything was very picked over. I only buy things on sale/clearance and there was really nothing. I bought the kids a few t-shirts but decided I'd wait until school clothes go on sale. We are so happy to have Mimi here with us. She is a very fun grandma. The kids love having her full attention. Caleb hasn't quite warmed up to her and definitely prefers his mother! He is a mama's boy!
