Official Soccer Mom!

When you think of a soccer mom does this fit the profile?
Well yesterday I officially became a soccer mom! Ty had his first soccer game and oh boy if you've never watched 3 & 4 year olds play soccer you are missing out! It was hilarious! A bunch of kids chasing the ball, tears streaming down faces when someone took it away, oh man talk about excitement!

Ty just loves his coach--he has the best coach in town: his daddy! After the first practice Nate came home and said only two words: "Complete chaos!" But since then it has gotten a lot better and Nate is learning a lot about coaching and doing a great job!
Ty is a great little soccer player! He did really well at his first game! He is very aggressive and competitive! He hasn't quite figured out the word teamwork yet, he shed a few tears when his teammates took away the ball! But he did score a goal which was very exciting to see! Here's a little clip of the game which I think you'll get a kick out of!

Fun Things First!

Usually when there are chores to be done and things to do we say 'let's get our work done so we can play!' But not yesterday--the sun was shining, and after a week of rain we were feeling cabin fever! So we packed a picnic and headed to the beach! Everything else could wait--we had to do most important things first: play!

I loved sitting on the drift would next to my best friend and hubby and just talk to him about everything!!

Ty had a blast moving half the sand at the beach with his Tonka trucks! He dug a big hole and climbed inside!

Mara enjoyed running around and being cute--that's what she does best!

And Caleb? This was his first trip to the beach! He took it all in by sleeping through it all!

Can you believe these two little boys look so much alike? Ty is on the left and Caleb is on the right. Both boys are two months old in these pictures.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Today was a very GREEN day for us! Ty wanted us to have a silly day today--and well you don't get much sillier than everything GREEN! We made these cute little leprechaun hats and painted a GREEN picture, and had a deliciously GREEN Irish dinner complete with Cornbeef, parsnips, potatoes, GREEN jell-o, peas, and even GREEN garlic bread!

It's not easy being GREEN you know! But it sure was fun!
Uh-oh! Mara's turned into a little GREEN leprechaun!

The Cutest little leprechaun you ever did see!

What a Week!

Where do I begin? Let me start with last week's adventure to Corvallis! Nate had training last week in Corvallis so we all went along. We had a lot of fun swimming in the pool--which was a lot warmer than most pools I've been in! We found a fantastic park and we played all day long! Ty went for a bike ride while Mara went in the stroller and Caleb in the front pack--now that's a work out! Although it was the most beautiful sunny day it was so stinkin COLD!! The kids just don't seem to mind! I guess they have built in immunitiy to coldness! It was fun to stay in the hotel! My favorite part was the free hot cookies at night and the hot cinnamon rolls in the morning! Yum! Bring on the calories!
The day after we returned home from our Corvalis trip we headed to Portland to pick up Uncle Scott and Aunt Lorisa from the airport! They flew in for a visit and it was sure fun to see them! We took them to the Columbia Gorge but once again although it was sunny it was very very cold! The kids warmed up fast to Scott and Lorisa and were so happy to have company!
Because of Scott and Lorisa's quick trip we wanted to pack in as many things as we could show them of the coast--the only problem RAIN!! We do live in Tillamook and it does rain almost all the time! We were hoping for sunny springtime weather, but instead it rained and poured, hailed, and was windy! Welcome to the Oregon Coast! But non the less we headed south to Newport hoping for a break in the weather (it never came!) We had our picnic in the car, and I'll never forget running to the restroom getting soaking wet, and trying to run back against the wind and being blown away! We returned to the car completly drenched! We did have a good time at Newport Marine Science Center! Even Caleb was awake and enjoyed seeing the fish!Monday we hit the lighthouse, cheese factory, and Cape Meares. Although it was a fast visit it was so fun laughing and playing games with Scott and Lorisa. Hopefully next time they come it won't be so rainy--I wouldn't count on it though!

Field Trip: Teddy Bear Fair

Today began our trips of many trips this week with Ty's field trip to the Teddy Bear Fair at the hospital. Mara, Caleb and I tagged along for a tour of the local hospital. Mara loved being with the big kids, she is ready to go to preschool! At the teddy bear fair, each child brought along a teddy bear and we saw many things from inside the ambulance, to how they do x-rays, and Ty's favorite playing with all the toys at the physical therapy. They did fingerprinting and individual ID tags for each child. It was a pretty fun day!

This is the bear Ty chose to take because it had a big hole in it's head and they sewed it up for him and put a band-aid on blue bear!

Caleb was absoultely perfect at the field trip! He slept the entire time!

Mara's bear had a check-up and even got a wrist band!

A few of Ty's friends at preschool checking out the radiology department:

Ty liked being inside the ambulance--as long as it wasn't for the real thing!

We are actually on our second trip now: Corvallis! Nate had a training for the next few days in Corvallis so we came along for a little getaway! We are hoping for some sunny weather to play at parks, ride bikes, and if nothing else swim in the pool!!

Bigger every minute!

Caleb is growing by leaps and bounds! Every day he seems bigger! I thought I should put a little video on of Caleb for his grandma's who are missing him tremendously! Today in church Caleb was held by many other grandma's! He goes into Relief Society while I am in young womens. One of the ladies said "Oh thank you for sharing your baby with me today!" I said, "Well everyone should be able to hold a perfect baby!" The sisters in Relief Society asked if Caleb had vocal chords because they never have heard him cry! He does cry on occasion, but hardly ever! Caleb is full of smiles and is ever so precious!

Fabulous Friday!!

What made our Friday so Fabulous? Well, pudding painting, sunshine, new bike, and a basketball game!! What more could we need for a fantastic day?

Hmmm? I don't know about this stuff mom!

Let me try one taste!

It's good! Do you want to try it?

It tastes much better with all my fingers!

Yummy! I love it!

Yikes! What a mess Mara!

But it's all okay because we are having fun!

Are you sure it's okay to make a mess?

Well okay then! I'll use my truck to help me!

The sunshine sure makes every day a wonderful day! We are feeling spring fever and can hardly wait to have spring here! Any sunny day feels great! We try to take advantage of any sunny weather we get! Mara is trying out her new big wheels bike for the first time! It's a little big, for our little sweetie! But she'll grow into it sooner than we think!

Baby Caleb went to his first (definitely not last) basketball game on Friday night! Tillamook High had their championship playoff game and we decided to go cheer on our cheesemakers! It was so incredibly loud our ears were ringing! But Caleb didn't seem to mind! He slept through almost the entire game! We had to cover his ears though we didn't want him to have hearing problems!
Although it was a close game the Cheesemakers lost by two points! Bummer! Ty loved watching the basketball game and kept asking 'now are we winning?' 'what's the score?' He was pretty upset with the loss and at the end started to cry! He's pretty competitive, hmmm wonder where he gets that one from--oh ya! His mom!

Smiles, Grins, & Giggles!

Caleb has a smile that would melt your little heart! He has really been a smiley little boy lately and he just grins ear to ear! It's hard to get him to smile for the camera though, every time I put the camera in front of my face to take the picture he stops smiling!! Caleb also giggles in his sleep, it is pretty funny! I don't know what could be so hilarious to a six week old, but something sure makes him laugh!

How can three little kids bring so much JOY?! I don't know, but I just get a smile on my face when I see these three little kiddos! Here are a few pictures of the little cutie-patooties!
