The Annual Lewis Family Camping Trip Before School Starts continued again this year! I think this is the third or fourth year! It's a tradition to go on a camping trip the week before school begins! And we made it! Weren't sure if it was going to happen, we kind of last minute decided to pull it off and it turned out great! We headed to Great Basin National Park for a few days of camping. We have a goal to go to as many national parks as we can and let's just say we went, we saw, and we are good! It's one of those places that is cool to visit, but you don't really need to go back!! Great Basin has nice scenery, awesome caves, and a few good hikes but that's about it! Fun times and good memories! Sad the summer is coming to an end!

We set up camp right by this pretty little stream! The kids love being so close to the water! They loved playing in the water, throwing rocks, and crossing the fallen down logs! They had a blast here!
After we set up camp we drove through the park. It's a pretty small national park. We drove through in one night! It was a really pretty sunset.
You feel like you are in the middle of nowhere! You drive through the desert forever and finally you reach this mountain area and there it is! It was cool to be up so high.

The next morning we woke up ready to hit the trails! I love Caleb's face--I think he is trying to figure out a way to climb this tree that has fallen over!
Along the hike we saw a little deer. Carder was so excited and kept asking '"where did the deer go?" the rest of the hike!
Carder really does not like to be in the Ergo! He wants to hike like the big kids! But this was a long hike and he needed a break!
Ty can find any nook or cranny to hide in!

On the way back from the hike we played the I Spy...A,B,C game! It was fun to laugh and joke around!
We loved all the different colors from the purple mountains, bright green grass, to yellow aspen and dark green trees! Very nice!
It was a great hike for everyone. We were all good hikers and Carder even managed a little nap on the way back down!
