Next stop: SEATTLE!!

Sunday morning (Father's Day) we wake up to the sound of drip-drop-drip-drop--that's right, rain falling on our tent! Thank goodness we have a 100% waterproof tent! It was worth every penny! Let me just tell you what the perfect and amazing father Nate is and especially was this trip. As most dads on Father's day woke up to breakfast in bed our daddy served us breakfast in the tent so we wouldn't get wet in the rain! He then loaded all our things into the car while the kids sat snuggly warm inside the car so they wouldn't run around and splash in all the puddles! Nate never loses his patience and he is always Mr. Happy Daddy! He was continually telling cute and funny bedtime or campfire stories to his kids. He sang songs along the drive with Ty and Mara and kept them entertained with games and riddles. Not only that, but because of him we were all able to spend such a nice time together on a great family vacation! Thanks Nate for being the perfect husband and father and taking us on a wonderful vacation. It is one I never want to forget and will always have fond memories of.

Okay back to our road trip....Ever since we moved to Oregon Nate and I have had a burning desire to visit Seattle so we said 'now or never baby! let's do it!' We made it to Seattle and we headed to Lake Union for a free boat ride, but it was all filled up and we weren't able to go--bummer! So instead we took a really cool tour of a tug boat.

Then we headed over to the Hiram M. Chittenden Government Locks and fish ladder. So cool! I had no idea it would be so interesting, but it was amazing to watch boats come off the Puget Sound and have to be risen up to the level of the Lake Union in the locks.

Then we watched the salmon swim up stream using all there strength and energy to swim against the current--it seems nearly impossible yet they actually do it! Awesome!
