Eight is Great!!

On September 1st (which happened to be Labor Day), Mara turned eight years old! This is a very important and special birthday because she will be baptized! For her birthday we did something very special...she has been asking and begging  to get her ears pierced so I surprised her and we went on a mommy daughter date to the mall!

The last picture taken of her ears without holes! At first she was a little nervous but she was also excited!

We went to Claire's--now I think it's called Icing and they did a good job.Mara said it hurt to get her ears pierced but she was brave and didn't cry!

Ta-da! Mara Lew with her new ear rings! So pretty! After the ear piercing we went to every store in the mall looking for a white baptism dress! They are hard to find! We ended up finding a beautiful dress at Deseret Book!

We went out to lunch at noodles and company! She likes her new earrings and said she was glad she got them pierced!

When we got home we had a cookout in our back yard with our friends the Stones and Grandma and Grandpa Lewis! We were having too much fun roasting hotdogs and marshmallows that we didn't get any pictures! But it was a very fun birthday! 

This birthday girl actually had two birthday celebrations! The night before her party we had Mimi and Papa come up for dinner!


And while Mara was eating her corn on the cob her tooth about fell out! All during dinner and she wiggled her loose tooth and before long it popped right out! That is eight teeth before her eighth birthday!

What a lucky girl to have two celebrations!

This was Mara's birthday cake...a chocolate ice-cream cake roll! It was so yummy!

I just love this sweet Mara Lewis and I am so grateful she is in our family! She is a wonderful daughter and a great example! She is kind and thoughtful. She is my best helper! She is caring and loving to her brothers, family and friends. She is happy and cheerful.
