Birthday parties are a lot of fun, especially when you have a fun theme for the party! Ty wanted a Lego birthday this year and this was a great idea! Ty loves legos! He sometimes calls himself the Lego Lunatic because he plays with legos so much! So we had a theme, we invited twelve boys, and we had an awesome cake! What else could we need?!
This was one of my favorite cakes I've made! So easy, looks awesome, tastes great and looks like legos! Ty was thrilled!
That is one happy birthday boy! He actually had his friend party a few days early because of his birthday being on the 4th of July everyone usually has plans with family!
This was quite the party! Ty is so lucky (and blessed) to have this many boys his age close by! He is surrounded by a great group of kids! We played lot of fun lego games and let the boys build legos at the end. The party was a hit, and I was sure glad when it was over! This many boys in one room full of energy and sugar made for a crazy afternoon!!
Ty's real birthday started with birthday pancakes! Delicious pancakes made with yellow cake mix and sprinkles! They were quite tasty! If you have to have your birthday on a holiday I would suggest the 4th of July! It is a great day for a birthday!
Can't believe my oldest is NINE! Last year in single digits! Ty such a sweet loving boy! He is kind and nice. He is helpful. He is a good piano player. Ty has a strong spirit and testimony. Sure love this boy!
He got a new magic trick kit! He seems pretty happy about it!

What could it be?! Another lego set! A huge pirate ship!
For Ty's birthday he wanted to go canoeing. He even got a new life jacket to wear on the canoe. We loaded the car with a picnic dinner, got everyone ready and set off with Mimi and Papa in the van towing our canoe. We needed to get gas in the car and fill up the tires with air so Nate dropped Mimi, the kids, and myself off at Arby's for lunch and headed to Chevron with Papa to get the van all ready. What felt like an hour later Nate and Papa still weren't back. I finally decided to call and see what was wrong. Well the van wouldn't start, the key would go in but it wouldn't turn and Nate was worried that the key might break off in the ignition. So not only were we not able to go on the canoe, at this point we couldn't even get home! I called a really great friend who came and picked us up and then we were able to go get Nate and Papa and have the car towed to the mechanic. We borrowed a neighbor's truck to get our canoe home and when we got it home we noticed the wheel of the canoe trailer was practically off! We hadn't noticed it before and had we driven up the mountain we surely would have lost the canoe or even worst. We surely would have gotten in an accident. We felt grateful that the Lord would protect us and watch out for us, even though we were a little disappointed we didn't get to go canoeing!
Ty wasn't too sad about going canoeing, this meant he could work on his new pirate ship! He spent all afternoon building with legos and he loved it! We also worked on a 700 piece puzzle, watched a movie, and the men worked on home improvement projects!!
What a lucky kid to have two birthdays! We finished up the 4th of July with a delicious (absolutely tasty) flag birthday cake!
And finally--the best part of Ty's birthday...the fireworks! A spectacular show and a great way to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY TY!!
