It's always sad to see our vacation come to an end! But luckily we had one more stop on our way home to extend our trip just a little bit! We made a stop in Vale Colorado and WOW what a beautiful little place! You could tell just by the crowds and the shops that it was very ritzy!
We weren't planning on it, but someone gave us 4 tickets on the Gondola for free! How nice is that?! So grateful for generous people in the world! It made our day!
We went on the tram ride up to the top of the mountain! The kiddos thought this was the coolest ride ever and it really was a lot of fun!
The ride on the gondola reminded Nate and I of fun ski trips we had in past winters! It was such a beautiful ride!
At the top of the mountain was many fun things to do and see (most costing lots of $$$!) There was a dinosaur pit for digging bones.
Ty, our little paleontologist, could have spent the entire day in this one little spot digging for all the bones! He loved it! He found a few bones but there were many more to find!
There was also a visitor center with many hands on activities for the children dealing with wildlife.
The view from the top was outstanding! I could have stayed up there all day long!
We went for a short little hike around the top of the mountain. There were many hiking trails and biking trails but we weren't quite prepared for an all day hike so we just did a quick one.
Me and my sweet little sweetie!! Along the hike we passed an outdoor amphitheater.
The kids each chose a ski pole at the resort to use for a hiking stick!
They sure thought it was awesome to carry around a ski pole!

Next time I go to Vale Colorado I think I want to go skiing! What a great ski resort!
We found a nice fallen down log to have a snack and a little break!
While we ate our snack a bird came close by us and wanted some too! We shared some of our granola bars with him and he stayed near us the entire time!
Ty found a different log to sit on and eat his snack!
Time to go back down the gondola! Caleb is holding on tight!

Great day in Vale Colordao!! Glad we could stop and see it. Wish we had lots more money to everything there is to do! But oh well, such is life! Next stop: home!
