What could be better than going to the zoo on Mara's birthday with her cousins? What a great day! We had a really fun time with Aunt Erin, Kate and Anna at Hogle Zoo, but it wouldn't have really mattered where we went because the kids just had such a good time being together! Ty, Kate, and Mara are all one year apart and they are so cute together!
I remember this lion from when I was a kid!
We were hoping to see the baby elephant but it was with it's mother!

Kate is such a sweet little girl with a huge personality! It was fun to get to know her better!

The kids all wanted to ride the merry-go-round at the zoo! But we couldn't decide if we really wanted to pay the extra money for the ride. The attendant said we could have a ride for free since they were about to close. That made the decision easy for us! We all hopped on and took a ride and the attendant even wished a special happy birthday to Mara!

Ty really wanted to see 'Alex the lion' from his favorite movie Madagascar, but the zoo didn't have any lions--they did have a Madagascar exhibit!
