San Juan Islands

Just when you thought we were done with our trip there's more! We saved the best for last! The San Juan Islands are incredible! Oh wow what a place! Nate and I thought about retiring here! So spectacular! We loved the ferry ride to the islands. The first night we camped on the San Juan island, the views and scenery are almost indescribable. The weather was gorgeous! Our first stop was to Lime Kiln State Park. It is known for seeing killer whales. Sure enough we saw many right there swimming close to the shore. We went on a hike to the top of the Island and looked out over all the other islands clear to the Olympic Mountains and Canada. Our photos don't do justice for the sights we beheld!
The next day went to Orcas Island, we wish we could have spent a week here and visited all the islands! We enjoyed Moran State Park and the views from Mt. Constitution. Saturday morning we woke up, packed up, and hiked up to the top of the island. It was a steep incline and we were in a bit of a hurry to make it on the ferry. Another spectacular view from the top, and while we were sitting there enjoying the scenery a bald eagle flew right in front of us. Amazing! We hurried down the mountain as quickly as our little legs could carry us drove to the ferry and were pretty pleased getting there in time, however it was full and we had to wait an hour for the next one! Oh well we still made it and!
