Happy Thanksgiving!
Today was perfect! What a wonderful holiday! We think Thanksgiving should be once a week--or at least once a month!
Playing games together--yatzee! "Come on big bunny" as Ty would say!
Doing a puzzle--the kids even love big hard puzzles!We also watched a couple movies, read stories and took it easy... it kind of sounds like every other day of the week, but we had our daddy with us and it just felt like a special day!
One of our favorite things this holiday was making the pies together. Nate's favorite kind is pecan, but since this family can't eat pecans we tried a new kind: Almond Pie! Boy was it a winner! It was delicious! We also made a pumpkin pie--nothing says Thanksgiving like pumpkin pie!Some of the things we were thankful for were:

This was our fifth Thanksgiving away from family... it's crazy we've had more Thanksgivings away from family than with family! It seems to be getting a little easier for us each year to be away, but hopefully next year with any luck we could see the family for the holiday!

Oh! How I miss all of you. Thanks for the pictures and the update. I thought of you every minute and wished you could be here, but what a lovely day you had together!
That must be some special hat! It looked cute on Ty and Mara. Mara had beautiful curls. How long did they last? Curlers are a high price to pay for pretty hair, but she looked precious.
I'm proud of Nate's pie making skills, and think you are amazing to go to all that work for four people. It is a blessing to know that the tradition goes on!
It is so fun when your children grow old enough to play games. That was one of the best happenings here. All the "children" sat around the table and played games, laughed, and competed to win.
We too mentioned our blessings as we ate dinner. Blake offered a prayer of gratitude.
We also watched a movie. Miracle on 34th Street. No one had seen it, and that was amazing since it plays every year.
You set a lovely table with candles and a delicious meal prepared and served with love.
You are right, every day feels like a holiday when the dad is home. And Nate's the "good dad".
Erica, you are a beautiful woman. You have a lovely countenance, and pretty facial features. Your hair is gorgeous. It was fun for me to see my little girl.
Have another vacation day. I like the day after Thanksgiving because it is so easy. All the food is done, and it is another Holiday, but more relaxed.
