We visited the Rainbow Trout Farm near Sedona Arizona. We let Ty and Mara each catch one fish. The pond was so stocked full of fish. Nate put a little bait on the end of their poles the kids threw their lines into the water and within a few seconds they had caught a fish!
Now this is my kind of fishing!
It was pretty fun to watch the kids be so excited about catching a fish. Then they put the fish in a bag with ice for us to take to a local restaurant who would fry it up for us.**
Ty is watching his dad put the bait on his hook--this little cowboy is ready to catch him some supper!
Mara has the pole all ready to catch a big one!
Ty casts his line out into the water...
...and just like that he caught a fish!
One happy boy! One proud dad!
Now it's Mara's turn!
She was so excited about catching a fish she couldn't hold still to get her picture taken with the fish!
Nate and Ty taking the hook out of the fish's mouth--this is the part of fishing I don't like!
And Caleb? Well, he was sure happy to just explore and play with a rock!
If you wanted you could watch through the window and see the man gut your fish--no thanks! I'll pass!
Cool huh?!

**We were all looking forward to a delicious trout dinner with our fresh fish we caught ourselves. But what we didn't read on the handout they gave us was it was only during lunch time and by the time we made it to the restaurant it was over! Bummer. So we saved our fish in our freezer at the hotel thinking we would take it home--but by the end of the trip we weren't so sure we wanted it to stink up our car and cooler. So we said goodbye to our fish and threw them away. What a waste. But it was fun to catch them anyway.
