Desert Botanical Garden

We didn't want Nate to feel left out on playing in Phoenix, so when he was done with training we went out and played with him too! One of the coolest places in Phoenix is the Desert Botanical Garden.

We went at the perfect time--the cactus had flowers and the wildflowers were in bloom. Beautiful!

I didn't realize how many different kinds of cactus there really were!

They are all so interesting!

It was such a beautiful night too!

Don't get too close they are very poky! Just ask Ty! He accidentally took one step back too far and his back got stuck with plenty of little stickers. Poor kid!

Caleb did not want to be held, he wanted to walk around on his own. We were worried he would fall right into a cactus!

It was so fun to walk around and see such awesome plants.

Ty totally looks like he fits in a place like this with his hat!

The desert is one interesting place!

The kids enjoyed the activity booklet they had for them. They had to go around and find certain plants and animals (yes we even saw animals here too like quail and bunnies.) It kept them entertained!

We made it just right at sunset!

These photos Nate took. They turned out really good. I love sunsets!

Beautiful pictures. You are right. This was the time of the year to see the desert in bloom

I am sure the Caleb wanted to run around but there was no way he would have stayed out of the cactus.

I've never seen the cactus in bloom. We talk about going to the desert every spring, but it never happens.

The sunset pictures are breathtaking.
