Malibu Creek S.P.

If there is one thing that our family loves to do it's hiking! We wanted to go on a really great hike while in California so Uncle Blake suggested a hike up Malibu Creek State Park. It was a perfect hike to do with the kids and Ty and Mara especially liked the hike since they were with their cousins Kate & Anna.
Ty and Kate both wanted to be the leader! I think they were having a race to see who could be the leader first! We had to call them back to come hike by us!

Uncle Blake was funny, he said "Usually this hike only takes half hour--it's double that with kids! It did take a while to get to the end, but it was a perfect day for a hike and the weather was beautiful.

It was fun for me to be with my brothers. I do have great brothers who I look up to and love!

Okay--this was hilarious! We all started busting up when we saw this guy with full snorkel gear snorkeling in the river on a raft! Was he looking for something? A wedding ring maybe? (Inside joke!)

Ty is my full-fledged water boy! He would have jumped in the river had I not said "Don't even THINK about getting wet Ty!" He just loves playing in streams, rivers, lakes---any sort of water and doesn't even mind being wet!

At the end of the hike was a beautiful pool of water with rocks all around. There were tons of people playing in the water and some even cliff jumping into the pools. It wasn't that hot to go swimming, but it was a very beautiful spot.

Ty and Kate had the most fun searching for fun spots to hide in. They loved chasing each other around. Ty teased Kate with pieces of grass, Kate teased Ty with sticks--but all in all they had a fun time together.

The hike was 3.5 miles round trip, which for little legs was quite the hike. When we were hiking back Ty got a little tired. Because Caleb was on my back and Mara was on Nate's back we asked Ty to carry the backpack. He complained he was too tired and couldn't possibly carry the backpack or finish the hike. To get his mind of being tired and hiking we told the kids stories of their early childhood including things we remembered about where they were born and things we wanted them to remember about their past. It was really neat to tell them these stories. I wish their minds could remember all these amazing activities and adventures we have taken them on. I think it's important to remind them of all these things so they can remember the stories they have been told.

I am so sorry that I missed this part of our family vacation.

It was good to see pictures of Ty and Kate together. I think they had fun together.

This looked like the perfect hike for a family.

What was with the snorkeler?
