Time Out For Mom!

Last Saturday I took a time out and went with my two dear friends to the temple. Nate was more than kind to watch the kiddos while I had a get away. We were on our way to the Provo temple when we came to the turn off for the Manti Temple. Up ahead of us a few yards was an accident--a truck had rolled over and was blocking the road both directions. We quickly changed our minds and headed to Manti instead of Provo. I'm so glad we did! I have been to Manti several times, my grandma Lowry was born and raised there and we used to go every Memorial Day and decorate graves but I had never gone into the temple.
It just happend to be my Grandma Lowry's birthday that day and I felt a connection with her for being at her temple. We had such a wonderful time at the temple. It was such a neat spiritual experience for me. I felt like my spiritual cup was over flowing! I found out later that day that I had to great-grandfathers help build the Manti temple. I am sure grateful for their sacrifices and dedication to build such a beautiful temple.

.....meanwhile while I was in Manti.....

Nate packed up the kids and put a picnic lunch together and went out exploring!
These are the photos Nate took while up Huntington Canyon:
Mara was a little cold on the hike!

This was the sight where a Mammoth was discovered.

Trail to the place where they dug up the mammoth.

Caleb playing along the trail.

Mara & Caleb strolling along together.

Pretty aspen trees and wild flowers along the way.

And the clouds were scenic too....until they turned into rain clouds and it started to rain! (Only for a few minutes!)

The kids eating their picnic lunch!

After lunch they went fishing and Ty caught two big fish!

A fabulous day for both daddy & kids and mom!! So grateful to live closer to temples. Grateful for good friends to go with. Thankful for a supportive husband who was so encouraging for me to go! I told Nate we had such a wonderful time we just might have to start going once a month! He said that would be great!

*** WAIT!!***
There's more!

Later that night we went up Price Canyon with the same two friends from the temple day and their families to roast hot dogs and marshmallows! We just packed it all in and had a wonderful day start to finish!

The kids were so excited to be together and have a cook out with their friends! Between the three families we had 11 children all together!

Cute Ruth and Cute Mara!! They are the same age and two good little friends!

Ty had a great time with his buddies: Craig and Cole. This is Craig holding his mighty roaster!

Nate chased around a lizard until he caught it! He was down on the ground, grabbing at it and finally he caught it in his hands! Caleb loved seeing the lizard.

He showed it to all the kids!

Mara held it too! She loves lizards!

She had no problem holding it!

Your family is so very blessed. The Manti temple is incredible and so glad you could be there on mom's birthday.
We do have great memories of Memorial Days there.

I am grateful for the peace you felt and that you were encouraged in your personal challenges.

Wow!, Yes! Nate is awesome.
