The Fair

On a scale from 1 to 10 with 1 being poor and 10 being excellent I would rate the Carbon County Fair as being .....well less than fair! Maybe I was expecting it to be like the Tillamook County Fair--which it didn't even come close to being!! I'll give Tillamook credit for two great things: the fair and the library! Price doesn't even compare to either! Oh well!

I should have known the fair wasn't going to be great when the cost was free and they didn't even charge to park the car!!
We saw the animals in the barn...not too many but just enough for Caleb to get real excited!

Ty loved the dunking booth! He thought it was so funny when the person fell in the water. He wanted to try it too but he just couldn't hit the target! Oh well, good try Ty!

They had two large swimming pools full of trout (or very large fish). Ty just couldn't imagine how they would get the fish in the swimming pool!! They let the kids fish for a trout with a stick, a string, and a hook! We passed on this event! No thanks!

We liked the free samples--yum, blueberries!

They also gave out grapes and pretzels. Ty likes to call it "Grapes on a stick".

It was a fun day at the fair regardless of the high expectations I had!! The kids enjoyed seeing new things, drinking cold lemonade, and seeing Smokey Bear! I had a fun time with my friend Wendy and glad she would come with us.

One other funny thing about the fair...they had a drawing for a flat screen TV, a trailer, camping gear, and a tough shed. It was free to enter but you had to be at the drawing at 10pm on Saturday to win. I wasn't going to go...I knew I wouldn't win but there was a chance (a very small chance) of winning! So I ended up going over with my friend Wendy and her husband Spencer and waiting for our names to get called. Well it was a waste of time I didn't win! Bummer! Oh how I wanted that big screen TV for my new house!

Wish you would have won.
It doesn't take a lot to entertain children, but you are right; Tillamook knows how to organize a great fair.
