Kenilworth

A few miles to the north of Price is a small (very small) town called Kenilworth. On Friday night we took a drive to explore the area and see what it was like. Nate has been here before and showed us what there was to see. Driving through the tiny town reminded us of Summerville Pennsylvania, where we used to live. Kenilworth began as a coal mining town, but it's more of a ghost town now!
We saw the old Saloon in Kenilworth---now if that doesn't say haunted house I don't know what does!

It would be interesting to see what's inside the old saloon! It looks like it could be in the old movies.

We parked the car up at the base of the mountain and went exploring! Caleb is a great little explorer! He had a fabulous time picking up every rock, stick, and pine cone he could find!

Mara had a fun time exploring also! She is a good little hiker!

This little explorer found lots of cool things along the way--old rusted screws and bolts, a huge piece of paper-thin rock, and other worthless items!

Mara trying to avoid the itchy buses!

It doesn't take much for Caleb to be happy! He was so glad to sit and play with rocks!

We wanted to hike to the top of the peak you see in the back, but well...it was way too far for our Friday Night Activity!!

Up here Caleb! I wanted him to look up!

Hello down there Mara!!

It's not the big things we do as a family--just lots of little fun activities here and there that are important! We are just glad to be together having a good time!

Mara liked to find 'magic wands' along the way and pretend to turn us in to different things.

What is it with this kid and rocks?

Going for a ride on daddy's shoulders!

Daddy and Mara doing a little bushwacking! They got a little too far from the trail and daddy had to carry Mara back!

Daddy found a great rock to make his very own petroglyph.

Can you tell what it is? I think he made a deer. He found everyone a rock and we all carved a picture in our rocks.

Is that the only building in this town? It could be a set for a movie.
Your family has so much fun!
