Yesterday I read on facebook that my friend was going to the kite festival at Rockaway Beach. I didn't know there was one! So I grabbed the kids, got in the car and just went! Ty said, "But mama, we already went to the beach today. Why are we going twice?!" My answer was: "It is a glorious beautiful day and I'm not wasting the sunshine by staying home!" What perfect weather for the beach! We couldn't ask for a nicer weekend. I took the kids to Oceanside in the morning until lunch and after they woke up from naps we went to Rockaway! We lived it up baby! It felt great to be spontaneous and have a blast with my kiddos. Nate (bless his heart) could not be with us because he is a righteous and obedient man and chose to attend both priesthood and adult sessions of stake conference. I'm grateful that he is a good example to his family and a righteous priesthood holder but we missed him dearly yesterday as we played on the beach.
Ty and Mara loved seeing the kites. Their favorite was the huge 'Nemo' kite.
I especially loved the huge round circular kite. I thought it was pretty cool looking.
As soon as they found this little water stream who cares about the kites! They were so excited about playing in the water! I loved watching them run and jump and play and splash in the water! How would it be to be 4 or 2 again and not care about wet clothes or being cold?

Once again you did it. "Good Day Sunshine" was the perfect music for your afternoon at Rockaway Beach.
The kites were so unusual and fun to see.
Of course it was good to see all of you, and realize that you were at the beach not one, but two times in one day. You're the fun mom.
