Just keep swimming!

One of my favorite lines from "Finding Nemo" is when Dori the fish sings "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming..." and that is exactly what we have done this summer: SWIMMING!!

At the beginning of the summer I wanted to take my kids swimming at the pool at least once a week. But shortly after that we were able to get a pool pass for 1/3 of the price and we went a lot more than once a week! Try 3 times a week!

Ty was given a few swimming toys for his birthday and he has had a really fun time diving for his sharks & squids!

Our pool pass is to the pool in Helper. I LOVE the Helper pool. It is just perfect for our family! Caleb's favorite thing is the big slide--he has already out-grown the little kiddie slide!

Caleb has no fear, absolutely no concept of drowning and has given me a few scares as he's jumped into the pool no life-jacket and sank to the bottom of the pool! I've had to grab him by his head and pull him above water. He doesn't cough or choke he just comes up with a smile on his face and thinks it is so fun!

My kids are fish! Seriously, they love to swim and play in the water! Mara is getting more and more brave in the water. She likes to practice swimming without her life-jacket, but for safety sake I feel a lot more peace when she and Caleb have on their life-jackets!!

There are many perks about going swimming: one of the perks about swimming is that my kids get along so well when we go to the pool! At home we have a few quarrels, but when we are at the pool they just do their own thing, or play together so nice! I love it! Another perk is they sleep great! All the exercise and activity makes them great sleepers! One last perk I must admit is getting a nice tan!! Even with 45 sunblock my kids look like little brown Indians from being in the sun so much! I'm really loving this summer!

We love going to the pool with friends! We try calling a different friend each time we go! Sometimes a friend calls us! Here is Caleb's friend Will. We had a really fun swim day with Will and his mom.

I was going to sign Ty up for swimming lessons, however since we bought a pool pass and can go as often as we would like I decided we would wait on the swimming lessons! But every time we go to the pool I try to give Ty a swimming lesson on his own. He is really getting to be a great swimmer. He even was brave one day and jumped off the diving board! He thought it was so fun the next thing I knew he was doing somersaults and flips off the diving board--I'm not even kidding!

Swimming days are the BEST days! Now that school is on the horizon and there are only 2 weeks left these days are really numbered. It will be a sad day when we no longer can take a day to swim in the pool! Speaking of swimming....looks like we will be going to the pool today! I better go get the kids in their swimming suits!!
