Independence Pass

All good things must come to an end. It's true...sad but true! I did not want our Anniversary Trip to come to an end! But I was anxious to see my 3 little darling children after leaving them for 3 days! It sure was a great refresher being away from 'every-day life'! Too bad 'every-day life' can't feel more like vacation life!!

We took the long way home--over the mountain through Independence Pass. It is only opened a couple months during the year because of all the snow. It was a beautiful drive and when we got to the top I felt like singing Karen Carpenter's Song "I'm on top of the world looking down on creation...!"

When we got to the top of the pass we took a quick walk down to the viewpoint to get a few pictures! It was an amazing view from up there.

Can you believe flowers can even grow at such a elevation when for most of the year there is several feet of snow?!

We had some fun with our panoramic feature on our camera, if only we could get them a little bigger!

Do not be deceived by the sunshine---it was very windy and very chilly on top of the mountain! It was a quick stop and view then back in the warm car!

This trip made me very excited to go on another trip! Next time with the kids though! Although I loved the time away I also love sharing such great adventures with my kids as well!

The thing I loved most about this trip was being with just Nate! Nate-the-Great as I like to call him! He truly is GREAT! I loved feeling young and in love again! I loved being with my best friend. I am so grateful we found each other. I promised Nate I wouldn't embarrass him on the blog, but I just want to say "Thank You Nate for taking a chance on me 10 years ago! Thank you for being such a wonderful husband and father. I'm glad we could have such a fun get-away together! Can't wait to do it again! I love you very much and I will always love you!"

When are you scheduling another get away. I want to see the kids and come and play again.

Get it on the Calendar.

Only you would remember Karen Carpenter's song. I played it alot.

The top of the world is spectacular. It's almost too bad you had to return to the real world so soon.
