Pirate Party Part II

I thought I had convinced Ty on not having a friend's party this year and only doing a family party at Pirate Island! Wasn't that good enough?! I guess not! Ty looks forward to his friend's party all year long. He has it planned out the year before! So how could I turn him down? I'm glad we had this party--it was so fun! I enjoyed planning it and it was so enjoyable to watch 12 little boys play pirates!

As the boys arrived they worked on a pirate puzzle. (And don't forget about our maiden Mara! She wanted to help too on the puzzle!)

It was really neat to watch these twelve boys work together on the puzzle. All of them participated and worked together.

Here is our crew: 12 little buccaneers! After the puzzle the boys made pirate hats and we put mustaches and beards on them--using a black eye-liner! Then they were given an eye-patch, pirate ring, and telescope!
I am so grateful Ty has so many friends here. All of these boys are such great kids. It is a blessing to be here in Price with great families and lots of friends for our kids.
Nate and I made a treasure hunt for the little pirates all around the park. They had to find 12 pieces to their pirate map using the clues they were given.

Each boy was able to find one clue. It was cute watching them run around like pirates looking for the next clue!

Ty found a piece to his puzzle and is using his telescope!

Here is what the map looked like. It's a good thing I married an artist! I couldn't have been able to draw something like this! At the end they had to find the last clue--X marks the spot!

And the boys found it all right! It worked out perfect to hide the treasure box in a sprinkler box at the top of the hill! It even had an X marks the spot made out of duck-tape!

This is what the treasure box looked like. It was a total make-shift box I ducked-taped together, painted gold, and put glitter on!

Inside was a loot bag for each pirate! It was filled with candy and treats.

Here Ty is opening the treasure box!

After the treasure hunt we enjoyed cupcakes with an X marks the spot on top! I think Ty was pretty excited about his birthday party! He is trying to hold back his smile!!

And our littlest crew member eating his cupcake all gone! I could eat this kid up! He is so darn cute!

Present time! Ty loved his gifts from all his friends!

As we were waiting for the parents to come pick up their pirates we played 'toss the cannon-ball'! They were black water balloons and the boys had to toss them back and forth to each other. If they broke on the grass the boys had to....

'walk the plank!' We made the picnic table into a 'plank' and the boys had to walk across! We wanted to fill up a swimming pool and have them jump in the pool at the end, but thought they might get too wet! So it was just a plank!

SOOOO FUN! What a great time had by all! Another party down!! Mara asked right after this party if she could have a 'girl pirate party'!! NOOOO!! I don't think so! I'm pirate partied out! Ty hasn't mentioned his party for next year! I think we will just do a very nice baptism day...but we'll see!

It is good that you are keeping a blog so Ty can remember all the love his mom and dad have for him in the work they do to please him.
He is one lucky boy and a good one.
