One For The Books!

Have you ever heard the saying "One for the books"? I know I have--from my mother! She says it all the time! And therefore I say it all the time! But I didn't quite understand it's meaning, I just would say it! So I looked up on thefreedictionary.com for this term's meaning and it said:

"something unusual or unexpected"
and
"based on the idea of a record book that contains information about the most unusual, largest, strangest events or things that happen during a particular period of time."

There you go! Now you know!
So I guess you could say " My kids are one for the books!" (in many ways!) but mostly because they love books!
I am so grateful my kids love to read and be read to!
One of Caleb's favorite things is books! He just loves books! His favorite books are sports books, or books with balls! He loves to read the same books over and over again. It's a good thing we go to the library so often to get new books or we would be bored of books!

Ty is one for the books too! He loves to read! He is such a good little reader, and I am so lucky to have a 1st grader *almost 2nd grader* who is so willing to read to his little brother & sister! This has been a life saver for me especially when I am fixing dinner! Ty is asked to read 20 minutes a day for school which is perfect for me to get dinner on while he reads to Caleb or Mara!

This is one of our favorite books "Are you my mother?" Ty was so cute to snuggle up with his brother and read to him!

Speaking of books.....
So I have had plenty of time lately to read since I have been resting and recovering!
Some of the books I have read and enjoyed lately (either for book club or on my own) are:

No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency (12 books in the series--loved them all!)
Dewey the Library Cat
Driven: Larry Miller
Savvy
The Help
Midway to Heaven

If you have a good book that you can recommend please leave it on my comments! I'm always looking for good books to read!

Thanks for the definition. You are writing your own book as you create your blog. I am very proud of you.

Caleb is very funny. You have to wonder which two or three books he will choose to continually read 100 times.

Ty is a good reader and student. Mara shows so much interest in books. I enjoyed her reading Maizie and Tallullah books.

You are to good mom!
