This past weekend we did a few fun things. Nothing too exciting but still it was a nice break and good weekend. Saturday I took the kids on an 'exploration' as Ty liked to call it!

Ty made himself a map and a telescope. He was pretty dang proud of himself! He carried them around and stopped now and then for us to 'check the map' and see if we were on the right path! Then he would look through his telescope and tell us what he saw!

Caleb just liked to just sit and chill on our exploration! He loves playing in the dirt and finding rocks to throw along the way.
Sunday we drove out to Mimi & Papa's to see them and celebrate Mara's birthday! It was a quick trip, but nice to take a break from life in Price and see my folks.

Mimi handed the box of candles to Mara so she could put candles in her cake. As you can see she put in a few more than four!

It was fun to have a cake and candles for Mara to blow out since she didn't on her birthday--it was too windy!

Caleb loves strawberry shortcake...well he loves the strawberry part the most and leaves the cake part!
SIlLy FacEs:

Then we all watched a movie together: Bedtime Stories. It was a really wacky show but it was fun to all laugh together and the kids loved laying by papa. Ty said after the movie "That was the weirdest show I've ever seen!"
Monday: A new adventure!

We loaded up the cars and went for a drive up the canyon. Ty and Mara were so excited to drive in Papa's car!

We drove up to the top of Middle canyon which overlooks the Kennecott copper-mine.

It was a pretty spectacular view from clear up there!

The kids made me and everyone else nervous as they danced around the top!

I felt a little more safe when they sat down and decided to throw rocks off the top!

Sometimes I just don't know where I got this kid!! What a crazy little dinosaur lovin boy!

Oh the copper-mine! Awesome. It is pretty amazing!

The fellas!

Papa with his kids.
Next Stop: Hike up the mountain!

Well, we were on a hike, however Ty decided he needed a quick break so he sat down and took a rest in the dirt!

Sticks & rocks...Ty's two favorite things!

Our hike wasn't very long...just to the aspen trees and then we turned around! We didn't know we were going to hike so Mara had on flip-flops! Daddy helped her out by carrying her part of the way.

Very silly pictures, but I just couldn't resist! Why do the kids have cups and containers? That is how they get snacks and treats at Mimi's house! Caleb knows that if he will take a measuring cup or even a plastic cottage cheese container to Mimi she will put M&Ms or chocolate chips, sometimes marshmellos, whatever she has on hand, in his cup! The other two kids caught on this and they too took Mimi a cup and all three kids are chowing down on M&Ms!

And this is what happens after eating a cup of M&Ms--dirty face but he's oh so cute!

Fantastic weekend!
Next time you come home we will go to the East Side of Kennecott and see the museum and the trucks up close.
Maybe we could take a picnic and eat at Copperton Park. You are going to be so busy, we'll need to schedule or winter will be here.
Strawberry Shortcake is always a treat. Cute kids, happy adults.
