I love when my kids are creative! Ty loves building things out of legos, tinker-toys, blocks, & lincoln logs...anything really! He hasn't always been so excited about the tinker-toys but when we pulled them out this time he really went to work! Check out what he created:

Love it!
While I'm on the topic of Ty...I'd thought I would share a little spot light of him.
Each 1st grader takes gets a day to take home 'the share bag'. They are to put 4 things in the share bag that describe them, things they like, their hobbies, or anything else that they want their classmates to know about them and bring the bag back to class the next day to show the other students.

Ty's four things were:
a tyrannosaurs rex,
a shell from the beach,
a soccer ball,
swim goggles

He also had to fill out a survey about himself and stand up in front of the class and talk about the things that he wrote and brought. Parents are invited to attend their spot light day so I went over to Ty's class and watched him present.
Ty did it! Hurray for Ty! He stood up in front of his class and very quietly read what was on his paper and showed the things he brought! I was a proud mama! Glad that he would have courage to do this! It wasn't easy for Ty and he spoke rather quietly....but he did it!
So these are some of the things Ty wrote about himself:
Favorite color: green
I like to: have fun
My favorite food: pessa (pizza)
Something special about me: I lived by the beach
I want to be: keng, (king), cowboe, (cowboy) scientist--he actually spelled this right from practicing earlier!
[I don't know what it is about being a king-cowboy-scientist but that's what he wants to be when he grows up! He came up with it himself and he is pretty determined to be a king-cowboy-scientist!]

Ty is a pretty special kid! He is a great student, friend and super-hero! I love his creativity and imagination! He makes me smile and laugh every day! He is a great big brother and my best little buddy!
