Last weekend I decided to take the kiddos on a little adventure. Nate had to work on Saturday so it was just me and the kids. We have never been to the Cleveland Lloyd Dinosaur Quarry so decided to take a trip out to see it.
It was a very long drive.......okay not that long, but longer than the 30 minutes Nate said it would take! It was closer to an hour! And boy was it in the middle of no where!
By the time we arrived to the quarry I had a very quiet car, this is what happened......
all three kids fell fast asleep! zzzzzzzzzzz

I sat in the car enjoying the quiet moment and let the kids finish their naps.

It just happened to be September 11. When I saw the flag I was reminded of the importance of the day and grateful for the country in which we live.

This is our first experience at a quarry! Let the fun begin!

First we went inside the museum and looked around.

It wasn't very big and not too many things to do, but it was interesting and we learned a few new things.

We all worked together on this 3D puzzle. It's harder than it looks!

But we were able to finally finish it.

Out to the quarry we go. It was different than I pictured, we went into a building with the quarry inside. The kids wanted it to be more 'hands on' and help out the scientists by digging out some of the bones!

It was quite interesting seeing all the bones laying there in the dirt, like a giant puzzle just waiting to be put together!

The weather was perfect, but the kids wanted to take a short break in the shade of a giant rock.

Ty said "I want a picture of just me by myself, not with Mara!" So there ya go!

Then I heard the same thing from Mara!
(That is the quarry shops in the background.)
Yup: They are dinosaurs all right!

Here we have a caMARAsaurus!!

And a very scary TYrannosaurus!!

Not too much to do there, but enough that we did it all and we can now say we have seen the Cleveland Lloyd Dinosaur Quarry! Next time we go we will take our daddy and go on a few hiking trails.

And where was Caleb during this time? Why wasn't his picture taken? Well....he took a very long nap! He slept all the way there, the entire time in his stroller, and all the way back home! That's what I get for going during nap time! At least he got a good nap!

So glad you are having all these adventures now. When you move you will be too busy.
I am sure the children had fun. Mara and Caleb are happy with a rock pile.
