Questions & Answers!

"You know that children are growing up when they start asking questions that have answers." (John J. Plomp)

I guess Ty is really growing up because he asks questions ALL day long!! Sometimes his questions are random and I wonder how in the world he thought of them. Other questions he asks I think he's just trying to push my buttons and drive me crazy! With every question Ty asks he has a follow up question of "Why?" Then usually another and sometimes another! Just to give you a few examples I've made a list of recent questions Ty has asked lately:
  • Why do big people have showers and little people have baths?
  • How does Jesus answer everyones prayers?
  • Why do houses get old?
  • Why do toilets have holes?
  • Why don't clothes grow?
  • Why does the sun go around the world?
  • Why does food melt?
  • What are policemen for?
  • Why does the sun go down at night?
Remember these are only SOME of the many questions Ty has asked! Sometimes his questions really make me think and I try to come up with a good answer. I am often thankful for my college degree, but honestly it hasn't come in too handy with some of his questions! Ty is such a funny kid! He keeps us laughing and thinking! We love our little buddy!

The picture of Ty is so perfect with his questions. It looks like he posed for it. Welcome to 4 year old curiosity. "Why?" is always the favorite question.
I don't know all the answers, but I like the idea of clothes growing up with the child. It would save on the budget.
I am glad you are keeping such a great history for your family. Make sure you have a back-up saving mode for all of this.
You are all about creativity.
I too am so glad you found your camera! Way to go Erica.

Ty, I decided that Popcorn Papas are left on this earth to answer their grandson's questions. So Here goes a try from your Popcorn Papa.

# Why do big people have showers and little people have baths?
Because little people like to go SWIM, SWIM, SWIM and they can't do that in a shower!

# How does Jesus answer everyones prayers?
Because he LOVES everyone SO MUCH, that he goes to his Heavenly Father and asks for help to answer prayers. And His Heavenly Father helps Mommies and Daddies and Papa's and Mimi's to help answer the prayers.

# Why do houses get old? Because everything that is on the earth gets old. Rocks are old and trees get old and fall over and everything that has been alive gets old and goes away so that new things can come and take their places.

# Why do toilets have holes?
Because they need a place for all of the stuff to go. Wouldn't it be awful if it made a stinky pile and you had to take it outside? I'm glad for holes in toilets!

# Why don't clothes grow?
Because then the stores wouldn't be able to sell new clothes and then all of the people in stores would have to go home.

# Why does the sun go around the world?
I want you to find the answer yourself. Have your mom stand in the middle of the room. Then, you go by the wall of the room and turn around in a circle. Your mom is the sun - and it is SO BIG that it doesn't really move. When you turn around, it looks like the sun is moving, doesn't it?

# Why does the sun go down at night?
When you turn around away from your mom, can you see her? No! Her sunshine is going on your back. And on the earth, the people around the world get to share the sun all the same amount of time.

# Why does food melt?
Because it wants your mouth and tummy to like it even more!

# What are policemen for?
Policemen help big people keep all of the rules and they help little people if they get lost.

I like your questions and I thkn that you are very smart when you ask them. The next time we talk on the phone, can you have some more questions for Popcorn Papa?
