Rocky Mountain National Park

I love my husband's job--probably more than he does! I guess because I don't work there but I still get to reap the benefits!! I'm grateful Nate's job provides for our family. I am very thankful that I can stay home with the kids and not have to go to work. I love that Nate's job is flexible and close to our home!! The other thing I love about Nate's job is the training opportunities which allows us to go with him and gives us a chance to see new places and have a family vacation!! Thanks Nate for working so hard and taking us with you on your trips!!

We had the opportunity to go to Denver Colorado...but first we stopped for a few days in Rocky Mountain National Park! On the drive there it was completely raining! Talk about a down pour! We weren't sure if we could even stop the car without getting completely rained on! But when we got to Rocky Mountain it stopped raining and was actually quite pleasant.

Rocky Mountain was beautiful! I loved seeing all the greenery, mountain peaks, and animals!

Caleb was glad to get out of the car after a 6 hour drive!

The kids all wished we would have brought our fishing poles so we could have gone fishing! This would have been a great little river to fish in!

For Ty's birthday his uncle John gave him this camel backpack. He loves it! In fact he loves it so much he filled it with water for the trip and drank nonstop out of it all along the way! We had not one but two emergency stops so he could empty his bladder after drinking so much water along the way!

Caleb found a perfect tree that was just his size! He wanted to take it home with us!

We saw so many elk at the national park!

This was a very scenic place! I wish I had taken my John Denver CD "Rocky Mountain High, Colorado!"

We drove to the top of the mountain. Chilly would be an understatement! It was pretty darn cold up there!

The kids were like little mountain goats climbing on all the rocks!

We were so high up on the mountain nothing could grow up there. It is usually covered in snow most of the year!

It looks like Caleb is on top of the world!

There are parts of the mountain that stay covered in snow all year long! Ty was glad he had long pants and a coat handy so he wasn't cold up there!

Mara wishes she had a tent and sleeping bag so she could go camping there but instead we stayed the night in a comfortable bed in a hotel!

We actually didn't have too much time to see the park. We arrived just before sunset and saw what we could then drove to the hotel and woke up the next morning to return to see more!

Oh I love that place! We lived in Granby Co. for a while for Brady's work. I miss the Branch there. They were the nicest people. And the National Park, we spent lots of time there driving through and hiking with other families. Makes me want to go back for a visit.
