We arrived back from Colorado with just enough time (one day!) to unpack our bags, do some laundry, and pack our bags again for a Card Family Reunion! Just a few hours north of us is a wonderful church camp facility. There are cabins, showers, kitchen area, sheltered pavilion! It had it all!
All because two people fell in love!! I just love Grandma & Grandpa Card! I think they are great examples and I love and admire them very much! We celebrated Grandma Card's birthday Friday night. What a great birthday party to have so many of the relatives together!
It was awesome camping with all the Card aunts, uncles, and cousins! What a great family I married into!!
Grandma & Grandpa Card and their grandchild and great-grandchildren!! Mara had three little cousins her age up there and she thought that was the best playing with other little girls! Caleb loved playing in the dirt with his cousin Garrett. Ty loved making 'squirrel traps out of sticks.' I enjoyed visiting and catching up with the aunts, uncles, and cousins. And Nate enjoyed relaxing up in nature!
Friday night for Grandma Card's birthday we had a few talents shared! Grandma Lewis read the story "Mortimer" and the kids helped her perform using her musical instruments! Grandpa Card recited a poem, and Caleb sang "Nephi's Courage!" It was a fun night of laughing, talking, and hanging out around camp!
On Saturday Nate, Ty, and I along with other relatives went on a short hike to the top of the mountain. We took a few wrong turns, we didn't exactly get to where we thought we were going! But it was still a nice hike and we were able to look out over the camp and see the lake.
Is that a sad/dirty face or what?! Caleb did not want to be done playing in the dirt! You can tell he had a great time with the amount of dirt on his face!
Oh that is much better!! After a shower and getting cleaned up Caleb feels and looks much better!
We all showered and got cleaned up so we could go to our second family reunion! We drove straight from Heber to Salt Lake where we met the Clegg cousins for a Clegg Family Reunion! This tree represents our Clegg family tree! There are six branches that represent my mom's siblings and on each branch are my cousins and their kids. Grandma & Grandpa Clegg have 33 grandchildren and 50+ great-grandchildren! This year marks my Grandpa Clegg's 100th birthday!! It was a lot of fun getting together with my relatives and seeing them. How blessed I feel to have two such wonderful families! I am grateful for good examples to me and my children. I am grateful for my family heritage and for knowing that we are an eternal family!
