We decided that we needed a break from life and since Ty had a day off from school we decided to head south for one last hurrah and our final camping trip of the season. We went down to Moab for a few days and enjoyed the red rock country of Arches National Park.

We left first thing in the morning and found a camp sight, set up our tent and enjoyed a nice picnic lunch. The weather was perfect. We couldn't ask for nicer weather: not too hot or too cold!!

Ding-dongs! Yummy!

Mara prefers apples...a little more nutritious!

This little boy thought the Ding-dongs were pretty tasty too!

That's not dirt...it's cupcake!

We found the perfect camp sight along the river. It was on BLM land and there weren't too many camp sights available, they went fast so we were happy to have found one!

What an awesome place to visit! We are so happy to only be a couple hours away!

We started our vacation out at Arches N.P. visitors center. This was our second trip here. Nate and I came right after we were married when we were kidless! We did practically the entire park in two days! With kids we barely went on two hikes with kids!!

As you can see we are in t-shirts. It was actually quite warm! We had to take of our long sleeve shirts because it was too hot. Hot in October?! Awesome!

I love when it looks like the kids are best-friends! And there's Caleb getting lost in the sage brush!

The first hike we did was North and South Window Arch.

Isn't it cool to see blue skies in the middle of rocks! I love Arches!

I LOVE family vacations! Even if they are for only three days! It's great to take a break!

Two cute kids in the middle of an arch!

Nate did a great job taking cool photos of the arches!

Me and my little guy taking a break on the rock!

We saw a new side of Caleb this trip: Determination to HIKE! Wow, all three of our kids are determined, but Caleb was so adiment about climbing and hiking by himself as if he was ten years old!

He climbed all these stairs by himself. He was quite the trooper!

This was the perfect hike for our kids! We hiked just until the sun went down.

Caleb needed a little break from all the hiking and Mama needed a little break from chasin her boy!

What a great way to spend a day!

I'm sure we will be vising this place very often!

Check out this little rock climber!! WOW! He was so determined this trip to climb the rocks himself!!

Pretty awesome picture!

Ty found this stick that looked just like a bow. He kept calling it his 'bowen' and I asked him why he called it that and he said "Because that's what it's called: a bowen arrows!" I tried explaining to him that it was actually called a bow AND arrows but he prefers to call it his bowen!

Right under the arch!

Look at those brave little rock climbers!

Three great little hikers! They are a fun bunch to take on a trip!

Daddy and his little hiking buddy!

The kids loved finding hiding spots along the hike!

There's Ty with his 'bowen'!

The mountains you see in the very back are part of the La Sal mountains...which is part of Nate's forest!

Giving Caleb a stick was a good idea...I thought--because it kept him happy, then I realized it was a bad idea because he wanted to hit his daddy in the head with it!

Yup, that's my boys on top of the mountain! Nate has Caleb in the back pack and he wanted to go to the top to see what was on the other side!

Sitting by the campfire after a fun day and roasting marshmallows!

Talk about the perfect vacation for the Lewis's. How did you get such good weather?
I forget how beautiful and blue the sky looks against the orange rocks.
It is nice that all of your are healthy this time and can do so much climbing.
No! I can not believe that little Caleb is that determined. What happened to your baby? I guess you'll have to have another.
What great pictures! It is so fun that you can post on your blog again! Your kids seemed to really enjoy their trip!
