Papa's Birthday Weekend!

As soon as we arrived home from our camping trip we cleaned up just in time to welcome Papa to our house for a visit. It happened to be his birthday the day before and my mom was in California with a new grandbaby so we invited Papa down to be with us to celebrate his birthday.

I asked Papa what he wanted for his birthday dinner. He said his mother always made him fried chicken! Well I did the best I could and since I didn't have too much time Saturday to really prepare anything wonderful we had KFC--they do chicken right! (It was the closest thing I could come up with to be like Grandma Lowry's!)
Sunday we had Stake Conference and we had a great opportunity to hear from an apostle of the Lord: Elder M. Russell Ballard of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles came to Price and we listened to him speak as well as Elder Jon Huntsman. It was a powerful meeting and grateful for the strong spirit that we could feel.

Sunday dinner we made a little more special than KFC for Papa! We had a yummy & tasty dinner of grilled pork loin, pasta, homemade rolls..... and for desert Banana Cake of course! (That's Papa's favorite birthday cake. He has it every year!) The recipe is super delicious and very moist.

Glad Papa would come down and be with us. He helped us a lot and fixed our computer. Papa and Ty played a few games together. Papa taught Ty how to play checkers. He is still trying to beat papa! It was a fun weekend!
We love our Papa!
