When I asked Ty what he wanted to do for his friend birthday party his immediate response was: Superhero Party! Yaaaa!! Well then--since it was his birthday he could have the party of his choice, superheros it is.
Ty invited his buddies to the park and we had an incredible birthday party!

We began with a Superhero Training course. Nate is giving the superheros instructions on how to complete their task of the obstacle course.

The boys were so excited to participate in this fun activity--they all wanted to pass the course so they could become superheros!

The Superhero Training course involved:
Running '
Faster than a speeding bullet' through a row of trees.
Practicing their balancing by walking along two picnic table benches
knocking down a pyramid of cups with bad-guys

Target practice using handbombs (water balloons)

After doing 3 somersaults the boys had to climb through this 'bat cave'
Then they balanced along the playground curb, climbed a spiderweb to the burning building (at the playground).

Then they raced back to knock down a wall of boxes and rescue the teddy bear which was hidden inside one of the boxes.

The boys did it! They passed the training course and now are making their superhero masks!

Wa-la! Super Ty! But he seems to be missing one thing....a cape! That's right-each boy also received their very own superhero cape!

And here they are ladies & gentlemen our 2010 Price City Superheros!

Now time for popsicle--superhero popsicles that is! It's true, I found superhero popsicles at the store and couldn't resist!

The superhero popsicles were all different colors of the superheros--Ty's eating the Incredible Hulk--green, black, and purple of course!

I was surprised Caleb would eat the popsicle--usually he doesn't like things too cold! But he ate it right up. Here's Super Mimi coming to our rescue! What would we have done without her help?! She helped make the capes, frost the cupcakes, and chased Caleb around so I could focus on the birthday party! Thanks Mimi for your help!

Next we did the Spiderman pinata! What's a birthday without a pinata? And this pinata was HUGE! Almost the size of the boys, and nearly the same weight!

All the boys had a turn hitting the pinata! They did great and it was funny to watch them try hitting it with their masks on! Spiderman's legs, and arms fell off and finally we let Ty just have at it and he beat the thing up!

Candy went everywhere and the kids filled their superman sacks until they were overflowing!

I think we have one happy birthday boy, but who wouldn't be with this much candy?!

Mara loved being with Ty's friends! She had a great time doing what the boys did. She was supergirl!

And Caleb too! He was just one of the big boys! Super Baby to the rescue!

Cupcakes anyone?! Yum!

We tried and tried lighting the candles but there was just enough breeze it kept blowing the matches right out. But we still were able to sing to Ty and he made a wish anyway!

What a cute Super Ty! Happy Birthday buddy! Can't believe my boy is 6! What a great kid he is!

So in Mexico there is a tradition at birthday parties after they do the pinata and sing to the birthday person they get a cake or cupcake smashed in their face! Nate served his mission in Mexico--he thought this tradition would be funny to do to Ty---let's just say Ty was less than pleased with his daddy's choice and even shed a few tears! Lucky Ty was quick to get over it and forgave his daddy and the party continued!

Look at these cute super boys! I sure love Ty's friends! They are such great little boys. I love having them over to my house and playing with Ty.

The cupcakes were a hit!

Let's open presents! Awesome! Ty's friends were very generous, he loved all his presents, especially the super soakers, he's never had one of these before and can't wait to have a water fight with anyone who will do it with him!

Remote control monster truck--so cool!!

Otter-pops, Spiderman band-aids, an 'exploring kit' (what Ty's opening now!), so many great toys and presents!

My favorite part of the day was watching these cute boys run around with their superhero gear on and saying "This is so fun!" I'm glad they had a good time. I must admit I was SUPER tired after such a fun day, but glad Ty's first friend party could be so fun and go so well!

Super Party for Super Heroes. Thanks for sharing. Hopefully, someone else can use your idea. It is difficult to come up with fun party themes and activities.
This was a real hit.
