More sights of Seattle!

There were just too many things to see and do in Seattle, we wanted to do it all! So we bought the City Pass which allowed us to do many of the sights for one packaged deal. We had three and a half days to pack it all in and we did it!

We started the sight-seeing marathon with the Aquarium. Oh how fun it is to see the creatures of the sea! We especially enjoyed watching the sea otters eat their lunch and the octopus eat it's meal! They had a great touch tank where we could feel star-fish and sea anemones. One of the workers commented on how well Mara does touching all the sea creatures "she's so gentle and knows how to do it!" That's because we have the real thing out on the coast by our house--she's used to it!

We jumped on board the bus which took us to get on our boat for the Argosy Cruise. We didn't want to just look at the Puget Sound--we wanted to experience it going on a real boat ride (the tug boat we saw didn't count, it wasn't a moving vessel!) We started at Lake Union and went through the lock--which was even neater than just looking at the lock the previous days-- through the Puget Sound and back to the Pier. The kids did great on the cruise- they liked the boat ride, or at least they enjoyed sleeping through the cruise! We loved the views of the city and the ocean on the boat ride, but one of my favorite parts was seeing the 'Sleepless in Seattle house'--one of my favorite movies!

What is Seattle famous for? The Space Needle! You can't go to Seattle without going up the Space Needle--so we did! And it was great! The photo with Ty & Mara really tells it all:

We could have spent an entire day alone at The Pacific Science Center but we saw as much as we could that morning and afternoon. Ty's favorite thing here was the dinosaurs. Mara really liked the bugs, and Caleb was mesmerized by the water fountain! There was something for everyone here! We all loved the butterfly exhibit-- it was like going into a rain forest with butterflies all over and landing right on you! Ty carried around the butterfly identification card and everytime he saw a butterfly land he told us which one it was!

We weren't sure whether we had timed everything right because we ended up going to The Zoo late in the afternoon--but it was actually perfect! All the big groups of children had gone home, and we even stayed until the zoo had closed and we were the only ones there. Our favorite animals we saw were the bears, lion, orangutans, elephants, and the bald eagles!

The last thing we saw in Seattle was the Museum of Flight. This was another one we could have spent the entire day at but we only took the morning to see what we could. It was interesting seeing all the airplanes and the kids even got to sit inside and try it out!

When you said you did it all, you were right. It is hard to believe that with 3 children you could see all the sights and not have them crying, complaining, and upset.
That's such a cute picture of Caleb and Mara sitting side by side.

A cruise it so relaxing and enjoyable. I am sure I would take a nap too.

Timing on the zoo was perfect. It is a nice place to spend an evening.

Yes!, I am envious, but so happy that your family could have such a great vacation.

That looks like so much fun! Did Seattle have a lot of rain or was it good weather?
