After School Activities!

My favorite part of the day is hearing my front door open and seeing my school kids walk in the house! I love sitting around the kitchen table and hearing about their day as they eat their after school snacks! Some days it is just a quick few minutes before the after school activities begin! My kids are mega busy! But I love that they are involved and trying new things and developing new skills and talents! Some times I wonder why I sign them up for so many activities! But then I see them in these activities and know it is a good thing!

Ty has been busy with: piano lessons, flag football, scouts, and swim team!
Mara participates in: soccer, cheer-leading, and soon to be swim lessons!

This fall Mara was on a all boys soccer team! She didn't seem to mind being the only girl and she could definitely keep up with the boys! Her team had a great season. Although it is 'just for fun' and we don't keep track of points and wins/losses her team only lost one game!

Mara especially loved having her daddy for the coach!!

One funny story about Mara playing soccer was one game she was unstoppable! She scored 4 goals and she would take the ball away from the opponents every time they had the ball. Well one little boy on the other team didn't like that Mara kept taking the ball away and went up to her and said "You are not being very nice. You keep taking the ball away from me!" Mara said to the kid in a matter-of-fact way "That's how you play the game!" Way to go Mara Lew!!

Swimmer T-Y!! Ty has always enjoyed swimming, he is a little fish, but he is doing such an amazing job on the swim team! I'm so impressed with his swimming ability!

Mara loves to dance, but this year we are trying something new--cheer leading/ tumbling! Mara loves it! All her friends are in her class which makes it a lot of fun! Here she is doing a cheer leading trick with her teachers.

Mara loves practicing her cartwheel and has gotten quite good at it!

Ty has gotten quite good at the piano! He is our little piano man! Can you name the tune he is playing? ....Star Wars!!
It is non-stop running here there and everywhere! It's nice to have friends and neighbors to help with the carpooling to activities! No matter how busy we are though, we always find time to sit around the kitchen table and enjoy our family dinner together! That is my other favorite part of the day!!

Life. is. good.!!!
