Makutu's Island Adventure!!!

Every day in Arizona was an adventure!! Whether it was going to the park or finding some place new to play, we really enjoyed discovering Phoenix! A good friend of mine who grew up in Arizona told me about a fun place to take my kids called Makutu's Island!

Before we headed to the island we played in the park. It was a beautiful day outside! The weather was wonderful! I think I could really get used to Phoenix weather! (In the Spring that is!!)

Makutu's Island is a indoor climbing, sliding, crawling play-place! Wow! What an adventure! The kids LOVED it here!

The first little while I climbed and played with the kiddos....but climbing up inside a dark, narrow, tree trunk almost made my claustrophobia kick into high gear! Yikes! It was pretty scary! The kids had no problem with it! It was perfect for them!

I must say however, it was really perfect for Ty and Mara because they had no fear and could climb up to the top of the tree house without any help! Caleb on the other hand made me a little nervous but they had an arcade area that he loved to play on all the rides.

Caleb also loved the fishtank at Makutu's Island! It had the BIGGEST fish we had ever seen!
It was a fabulously fun time at the Island--the kids were sure tired on the way back to the hotel from playing so hard!

That night after Nate got out of training we headed over to Cabella's to look around. It is an amazing place! The kids loved it, especially seeing all the (dead) animals.
Ty wanted to practice shooting a gun. He has never done it before! But as he picked up the gun we made a rather interesting discovery: Ty shoots with his left hand!! When Nate tried teaching him how to hold the gun and shoot he couldn't open is right eye and close his left. He is left eye dominant! He is also left hand dominant when it comes to shooting! Isn't that weird since he is right handed?! Anyway, once he figured out how to hold the gun and shoot with his left he actually did pretty good!

The kids discovered a cave inside Cabella's! Too bad I couldn't get Caleb to turn around for the picture!!
